ESCANABA -- The Michigan Nurses Association has filed an unfair labor practice charge against OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.

The nurses claim the hospital has refused to bargain in good faith.

Specifically, the nurses claim they were threatened with economic punishment if they didn't approve a new contract by last July.

The nurses are also upset over a new sick leave policy that was implemented without their approval.

Hospital spokesperson, Lanna Scannell, told Upper Michigan's Source they believe the charges are unfounded, and they're confident the National Labor Relations Board will agree.
