MARQUETTE -- The Marquette Arts and Culture Center has set up a new Teen Café. After seeing a number of teenagers come in, staff from the Arts and Culture Center have set up a more artist friendly space for them. Art supplies and reference materials are set up for use. The goal is to have a creative space for kids to visit after school.

"Teen Cafe is a way to engage the teens and let them know they're welcome to come hang out here," said Tiina Harris of the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center. "They can bring their acoustic instruments, we have art supplies available, interesting magazines. We want them to come out, hang out with their friends."

The Teen Cafe is held Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 5 p.m. The Arts and Culture Center will also be holding artists workshops for teens during the month of April.
