ISHPEMING -- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Marquette is holding Bowl for the Kids Sake, pairing up kids with a big brother or big sister to raise money.

The organization is looking for a hundred teams with three to five people in each one to participate. In order to participate you're asked to raise a minimum of $75 and you'll get to bowl two games. The top pledge wins an Amazon Kindle.

Currently they're looking to match 30 kids with a big brother or big sister.

"They perform better in school, they get along with other kids better and their families, they have better attendance at school," said Executive Director Jayne Letts. "They're half as likely to become involved with alcohol and drugs, they learn about careers and have more hope for the future."

The event is scheduled for April 20 at Country Lanes in Ishpeming and on April 25 through the 27 at Superior Lanes in Marquette. Organizers hope to raise $50,000 this year.
