ISHPEMING -- The community of Ishpeming is coming together to help one of their own battle cancer. The Main Street School of Cosmetology in Ishpeming will be holding a cancer benefit for Theresa Marra.
Proceeds from the event will go to defray Marra's medical costs. It's happening this Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Stylists will be giving $10 haircuts and students $10 manicures. There will also be a bake sale and 50/50 raffle.
"People in the U.P. do a really good job of taking care of one another when somebody has a problem or has a health issue. We do a really good job here in the U.P., and this is one thing that we can contribute. The school tries to do at least couple of these a year," said Rebecca Harris, instructor at the school.
All of the proceeds will go directly to Marra.
