MARQUETTE -- The International Olympic Committee is looking at dropping wrestling from its program. This decision could come sometime after the 2016 summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro. Wrestling teams across the world are still struggling with what this could mean for their teams. Wrestlers at the U.S. Olympic Education Center at Northern Michigan University are still focused on 2016.

"I think all our hopes would be that wrestling would be reinstated into the Olympics. For right now, our athletes' focus is just on the classroom and working hard up in the wrestling room, and we'll just wait and see what happens next," said Operations Manager for the USOEC, Mike Kaurala.

Two more International Olympic Committee meetings are planned. The final one will give wrestling officials one last chance to secure wrestling's Olympic status. That meeting is set for September in Argentina.
