MARQUETTE -- Northern Michigan University will be taking a look back at the Hedgcock Fieldhouse Wednesday night. The fieldhouse opened in 1956 and was converted into the Student Services Center in 2004. The fieldhouse served as a venue for NMU athletics and high school sports. Wednesday night, the public is invited to bring their fond memories and stories of the fieldhouse.

"Hedgcock was a really intimate venue; you were very close to the action. It was completely surrounded on all four sides with stands," said Daniel Truckey of the NMU Beaumier Center. "Because it was so compact and intimate, it made an incredibly intense environment for a game, so that's why people have such fond memories of it."

The roundtable discussion starts at 7 p.m. in the Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center. There is no cost to attend.
