MARQUETTE -- Some say laughter is the best medicine, and for one man, he lives and breathes by that saying.
Bill Waters, a self-proclaimed humor consultant, spoke to a group at the Peter White Public Library about the importance of humor in one's life. Waters focused on how humor can influence overall health and help people in times of sickness and war.
He says the first step in bringing more humor in your life is laughing at yourself.
"How could laughter not be good for you? It relaxes you. It lowers stress. How could it not be good for you? We need more of it. And along with that, of course, comes the willingness to take a risk because your start, the only place you can start...laughing at yourself," said Waters.
Waters has studied with the famous doctor, Patch Adams, and has traveled to Afghanistan for a clowning mission trip.
