Look Your Best Regardless of Age
Facial Contours specializes in skin consultations, skin care products and prescriptions and facial sculpting using BOTOX and dermal fillers, all in a comfortable serene environment.
The use of BOTOX for facial enhancement is the most common cosmetic procedure undertaken in the United States and has safely been used for over 30 years. Very active muscles in the face can bother people because these lines can be misinterpreted as anger, anxiety, fear, fatigue, melancholy, and aging. After a BOTOX treatment there is no down-time…you can return to work immediately and no one will know. It generally takes four to seven days for the muscles to relax and smooth out. This greatly softened appearance will last approximately four months.
As we age, we tend to loose the elasticity and fullness we had in our youth. The lines become more evident as our skin stretches and sags. We develop creases and folds, and a harsher appearance develops that can appear to others that we are “tired”. Dermal fillers contain the same natural substances found in our bodies. They provide volume and fullness to the skin and a smoother contour to the face. Dermal fillers are injected directly into the skin using an ultra fine needle. The results are practically instantaneous. The most common side effects are temporary redness and swelling at the injection site, which resolves in two to three days. No real down-time….you can return to your normal routine right away. I am very experienced with Restylane, Perlane and Juvederm fillers and the results are stunning!Years of sun exposure causes premature aging of the skin such as fine lines, wrinkles, and brown spots. There also is the added risk of developing skin cancer. Each skin care consultation is in a private setting where skin health can be determined and a routine of daily skin care can reduce or eliminate the appearance of aging, sun-damaged skin. Microdermabrasion is a treatment used to remove sun-damaged skin, and to remove or lessen scars and dark spots on the skin. Microdermabrasion can also be used for treatment of acne. Be aware…not all forms of microdermabrasion are equal. I use a medical microdermabrator and, in my skilled hands, results are easily evident.
Since 1996 I have worked closely with Constance Arnold M.D., a plastic and reconstructive surgeon. I am a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner and have more experience in skin care than any other clinic in the area. For many years I have evaluated skin, biopsied, and treated many common skin problems. Although cosmetic concerns are generally not covered by insurance carriers, most forms of insurance covers evaluations for possible skin cancer. Any new or concerning spot should be evaluated, so do not hesitate to call for an appointment.
