ESCANABA -- A 19-year-old Escanaba man arrested in connection with a home invasion and felonious assault of a Bark River man was in Delta County Circuit Court Tuesday.

Michael Scott Jones is charged with conspiracy to commit larceny, assault with a dangerous weapon, and first degree home invasion.

Jones attempted to plead guilty, but the judge said the defendant failed to give facts that support a plea of guilty.

"I run up and I punched him and he fell off the couch or bed or whatever.  I grabbed her and pretty much threw her out the door, and I see the guys come in. They had masks on," said Jones.

"You didn't have a mask on?" asked Judge Stephen Davis.

"No, no sir.  I did not have nothing," Jones replied.

Jones' pretrial is rescheduled for Thursday.
