MARQUETTE -- The Lake Superior Theatre is performing The Dandelion Cottage this weekend. The play is an adaptation of the novel by Carroll Watson Rankin that has garnered a lot of attention lately.

The show has enjoyed huge crowds. Thursday's performance was before a full house. The play is about four young girls growing up in Marquette in the early 20th century.

"You can come and see a little bit of the Marquette history from about 1889 to 1904. Some characters that you'll recognize and a connection with the four girls, what they used to do before they had video games and Facebook," said Director Bobby Brown. "What did the girls of yesterday do to become the women of today?"

The actual Dandelion Cottage is on Arch Street in Marquette. The play runs every night at 7:30 p.m. through Sunday. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $7.50 for kids 14 and under.
