HOUGHTON -- The 20th Annual Parade of Nations and Multicultural Festival held in Houghton County was a feast of international flavors for the eyes and the stomach.

The parade started in Hancock at 11 a.m. Saturday and made its way across the Portage Bridge to Dee Stadium in Houghton.

Students from Michigan Tech and Finlandia University represented more than 70 countries as they marched in the parade.

The theme of this year's event was "Dancing with Diversity."

"It's really nice," said Tom Wilson.  "I know a lot of people go to a lot of trouble putting costumes on, and it gives everybody a flavor of the diverse cultures around the country and around the world."

The celebration continued well into the afternoon with the Multicultural Food and Music Festival at the Dee.
