NEGAUNEE -- Negaunee was bustling with activity Saturday for the 18th Annual Heikki Lunta celebration.

The day started out with about 200 fisherman on Teal Lake for the fishing derby; that's several dozen more people than last year.

More than $1,000 in prizes were awarded to those who caught the biggest fish.

This year's biggest catch was a 37 inch, 15 1/2 pound pike.

"It makes me feel really good that this many people showed up for the Fishing Derby today, and the weather is good and a lot of fish are being caught," said Irontown Association V.P. Ann Yoho.

Heikki Lunta also featured dinner and dancing at the senior center, bonfires on Teal Lake, and a fireworks display to end the night.

The lake was lined with families who wouldn't let the cold and snow keep them from celebrating.
