DICKINSON COUNTY -- The second annual Jig It Ice Fishing Extravaganza will take place in Dickinson County this Saturday, January 19.

Registration for the event starts at 8 a.m. and the tournament is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The grand prize for the largest fish is $2,500 in cash, but there will be many other prizes as well.

"We've really tried to make this a family event," said Tournament Coordinator Benjamin Wood. "We've got a special designated [kids'] area which was really popular last year. We've had some additional donations to help sponsor that kids' area this year, and I think that's just going to continue to grow."

Registration cost for the event is $30 a hole. The special kids' area has available fishing equipment and the cost for the child is five dollars.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Dickinson-Iron Medical Care Access Coalition and Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
