MARQUETTE -- Hundreds of people flocked to Marquette's Holiday Inn to snatch up some discount cross country ski equipment.

The Superiorland Ski Club held its annual ski swap Saturday, the group's largest fundraiser.

From skis to boots, there was a wide range of items up for sale.

The sale comes just before racing season begins for the high school team in December.

"The exciting thing this season is Marquette is the host site for the Michigan High School Championships this year, which will be in February," said Tom Wagner, president of the club. "Everyone should think about coming out to that; we're going to have a really great high school team."

The ski club hopes to raise a thousand dollars from the swap.
