MARQUETTE -- State Police arrested eight people for trespassing on state property during Wednesday's protest in Marquette.  They refused to leave Governor Snyder's Northern Michigan office when it closed at 5 p.m.

There were ten protestors in the office.  Two of them left when police told them they would be arrested.  The remaining eight who didn't comply were cited for trespassing.

They were released on a personal recognizance bond and are scheduled to appear in court December 17.  Their names have not been released yet.

Police say the protest was peaceful.
