MARQUETTE -- The 39th annual UP Builders Show wrapped up in Marquette Sunday.

The show saw about 7,000 people over the weekend, even more than the 2012 show. For the 120 vendors, the show is an opportunity to attract new customers. Workers at the Lowe's booth estimate they talked to more than 1,000 people. They report that the construction and renovation market has been doing well, including business at Lowe's. If Lowe's continues to have high profits, it could mean job growth in the near future.

"If the store gets busier, we do hire people. When we have the garden center open up, they will hire up to 15 to 20 extra people just to help us with the garden area," said Cindy Immerfall, Lowe's Flooring Specialist.

The 40th annual UP Builders Show will take place March 7-9, 2014.
