Favorite part of working at Village Cleaners and Laundry: "As the general manager and with my involvement with other businesses, I am unable to take part in the day to day tasks that are done here, but my favorite part is setting the tone for our staff to make sure that quality service and care are provided on every order to ensure customer satisfaction each time they visit our store. A special part of the job is seeing a customer come in with an item that they think they have ruined with a stain, and later seeing that our staff has successfully cleaned that item and restored it to its original condition."
Question What is your premier service? Answer Our premier service is our professional dry cleaning service that can handle pants, shirts, dresses, suits, drapes and many other garments. Question What is the most common question customers have about your business? Answer The most common question customers have is whether or not we can clean certain items. With the many different types of garments that are available now and the many different countries in which the garments come from it can sometimes be difficult to give an educated answer over the phone. When you bring in your garment to us, we can check the care instructions and determine from our experience with the type of fabric that is brought in the best way to clean the garment. There are many items out there that claim to be dry cleanable, but from our experience are not. Question What sets your business apart from your competition? Answer In the dry cleaning facet of our business I believe that our commitment to providing customers with an efficient quality service is our hallmark, and on the laundry side I think our convenience, cleaniliness, and comfortable facility sets us apart. Question Why is it valuable to customers to get to know you and your staff? Answer As we have gotten to know our customers, we have realized that each customer is an individual and has different expectations and requirements to meet their needs. Some customers like their collars on their shirts a certain way, some customers like extra starch in their pants, some customers travel a lot and their orders may have a more important deadline to complete. We take pride in knowing who are customers are and try to meet their specific needs the best we can. Question
What do you contribute to your community?
Answer Our Village Cleaners & Laundry store is one of the many businesses in the Country Village business complex, which employs close to 200 people. Members of our staff are involved in churches and community organizations. We are also members in the new Ishpeming/Negaunee Chamber of Commerce. There isn’t a day that goes by that we do not have someone come into our business with requests for donations, which we try to accommodate as many as possible. Question What services do you offer that many people don’t know about? Answer We have a couple of services that not everyone knows about. The first is our tuxedo rental service. We are affliated with Jim’s Formal Wear, who provides us with the latest styles and brands of tuxedos, featuring brands such as Ralph Lauren, After Six, Perry Ellis, and more. This service is available for proms and for wedding parties. The other service, which is somewhat new for us is our drop off laundry service. Some people are just too busy to do their laundry, which is where we step in, our staff will wash and fold your garments for your convenient pick up.
