NEGAUNEE -- At the Negaunee High School, the halls were alive with the Sound of Music.  Students in Negaunee are performing the Sound of Music this weekend.

The play is considered a classic with music by Broadway legends Rodgers and Hammerstein. It follows the story of the Von Trapp family during the beginnings of the second world war.

"People should come and see the Sound of Music this weekend because they should be supporting Negaunee High School. We have a lot of kids, also from the middle school and the elementary school, lot's of cute little kids, so that's a good reason to come and see it. There's a lot of good music and classics that everyone can sing along to, so it's going to be a good show," said performer, Rylee Whitford.

The show runs Friday and Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the Negaunee High School auditorium.

There will be a Sunday show starting at 2 p.m.  Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students.
