Residents browsed items varying from pets offered by a local animal shelter, to books for personal reading

MUNISING -- Local vendors in Alger County had the opportunity to display their products to the community on Saturday at the Home, Sport and Craft show.

Residents browsed items varying from pets offered by a local animal shelter, to books for personal reading. Off-road vehicles were available for viewing along with hand-made crafts.

Officials say that attendance is up this year.

"The overall attitude of the people at the show is optimistic and excited. It gives people an idea of what products are out there, whether it be birdhouses or decorating their gardens," Arena Manager Pat Gariepy said.

There were many returning vendors with a few new businesses showing their products. The show will reopen on Sunday from noon until 3 p.m. At the Munising Ice Arena.
