Heli-cam technology has been around for many years but not until recently, at this level of image quality and client interaction, has it been available to the general public in such an affordable manner. Professional aerial photography and Videography is now available to the masses, and can literally change your point of view.

The heli-cam system brings a live, bird’s-eye view to almost any situation. It is excellent use of technology to provide aerial solutions across multiple markets, including real estate, news media, construction, general business, architects, farms/agriculture, legal, engineering, and private residences.

The remote system is operated by 2 people, one to fly the industrial helicopter and one to operate the camera pod.  The camera pod carries full sized still cameras as well as HD video cameras. It has it’s own set of controls and can rotate, pan, and zoom independently of the helicopter.  Images are recorded locally to the camera system and at the same time are sent down to the camera operator via a live downlink system.  Clients can now sit with the cameraman and dictate the shoot via an LCD screen and headset, getting the exact shot they want without ever having to leave the ground or trust that the cameraman gets the shot they had in mind.

Three of the same systems shown (cover) were recently used to search for vehicles in the river at the 07-bridge collapse in Minneapolis and have also been used in major movie productions in Hollywood.  This system can also be equipped with an infrared camera to fly night search and rescue operations showing live views of heat signatures to assist police and fire crews.

It’s a truly unique, exciting and cost effective way of achieving aerial imagery and it’s available right here in the heart of the Upper Peninsula.
