MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - An online vote has helped narrow down a search for the best french fries in the state and one locally owned restaurant can claim the best fries in the U.P.
Beef-A-Roo has that honor. Online news site, M-Live, has a segment called Michigan's Best. It's a continuing search for best foods, restaurants and more across Michigan. Beef-A-Roo is family owned and the owners say when they heard the news, they were very excited.
"I think I screamed, I was very excited," said Cami LaFayette, Owner of the Marquette Beef-A-Roo. "It's quite an honor, it's a big deal to me and my family, this is great recognition for us for all the hard work that we've been doing for 47 years."
LaFayette also said the secret to the fries is the seasoning, which has been unchanged since day one. The crew from M-Live will be traveling across the state, ranking the fries and picking the top ten.
