UPDATED: Names of the two victims killed in house fire released

TROUT CREEK, Mich. (WLUC) - UPDATE: at 10:51 A.M. Tuesday:

The names of the two people killed in a house fire that happened Sunday morning have been released.

48-year-old David Saubert and 6-year-old David Saubert Jr. (DJ) were found dead inside the home.

The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time and the fire remains under investigation.

UPDATE at 9:00 a.m. Monday:

The Ontonagon County Sheriff's Office has released more information about a deadly house fire in Trout Creek Sunday morning.

Deputies were dispatched at 6:38 a.m. to a structure fire on Old Mill Town Rd. The residence was occupied by a 48-year-old man and a 6-year-old boy.

They were found dead inside the home. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Their names are being withheld pending notification of the family. The house was a total loss from the fire.

The Ontonagon County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Trout Creek and Duncan Township Volunteer Fire Departments, the Ontonagon County Victims Services Unit and Michigan State Police Troopers, K-9 and Fire Marshal.

A house fire has taken the lives of two people in Trout Creek.

According to WIMI The Storm out of Ironwood and the Bruce Crossing Fire Department, a father and son died in a house fire Sunday morning. Responding units were on scene around 6:30 a.m.

The cause of the fire is unknown and still under investigation.

The names of the victims are not being released at this time.
