Two-car accident leaves one injured near Marquette Mountain Ski Hill

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - A Gwinn woman is injured after a head-on collision near Marquette Mountain Ski Hill.

Around 1:50 p.m., Marquette Police Department officers responded to a personal injury accident on M553 near the Marquette Mountain Ski Hill.

56-year-old Paul Bruk of Haverhill, Mass., was driving northbound on M553 when he fell asleep and crossed the centerline, striking 76-year-old Gwinn resident Patricia Forchini's southbound vehicle head on.

Forchini was transported by EMS to UPHS for nonlife-threatening injuries. Bruk was cited for careless driving.

The Marquette Police Department was assisted on scene by UPHS EMS and the Marquette Fire Department.
