NBC - The Justice Department is considering GOP calls for a special counsel to investigate the Clinton Foundation.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions has ordered Senior Federal Prosecutors to evaluate the need for a special counsel to investigate concerns raised by Republicans.
Some concerns include alleged unlawful dealings by the Clinton Foundation and the sale of a uranium company, according to documents obtained by NBC News.
While the Justice Department is not confirming or denying the launch of an investigation, Republicans have been pushing for an investigation into the connection between the Clinton Foundation and foreign entities including Russia.
There could also be a connection to the sale of Canadian uranium interests to a Russian company in 2010 while Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State.
