Richmond Township rollover crash sends one to the hospital Friday

RICHMOND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - The Marquette County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a single rollover crash on M-35 in Richmond Township Friday night.

Around 9:05 p.m., Kevin Mays of Gwinn was traveling north on M-35 near County Road MQ when he lost control of his 2002 Dodge Caravan, causing it to leave the roadway and roll over.

Mays was wearing his seatbelt and no airbags were deployed. He had four other passengers in the vehicle, all of whom were also wearing their seatbelts. One passenger was assessed on scene and transported to UP Health System Marquette for further assessment.

M-35 traffic was reduced to one lane for approximately one hour due to the accident.

The crash is still under investigation. Forsyth Township Police Department, Richmond Township Fire/EMS, UP Health System Marquette EMS and Bears towing service all assisted at the scene.
