UPDATE: Charges issued for person of interest in Ishpeming

ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLUC) - UPDATE: Tuesday, Jan. 23, 12:19 p.m.
The City of Ishpeming Police Department is still actively searching for 22-year-old Chloe Jazmin Shumate.

On Tuesday morning, the Marquette County Prosecutor's Office issued a five-count felony warrant for her arrest on the following charges:

- Charge 1: Assault with intent to murder (up to life in prison)
- Charges 2 and 3: two counts of unlawful imprisonment (up to 15 years)
- Charge 4: Assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation (up to four years)
- Charge 5: Interfering with electronic communications causing injury or death (up to four years)

The Ishpeming Police are asking that anyone with information on her possible whereabouts to call the department at 906-486-4416 or Central Dispatch 911.

Ishpeming Police Department is attempting to locate 22-year-old Chloe Jazmin Shumate and is asking for the public's assistance.

Chloe is a person of interest in a serious assault that took place Sunday morning around 7 a.m. at the Wonderland Motel on Palms Ave. in Ishpeming. The 36-year-old victim, whose name is not being released, was taken to U.P. Health System Bell where she received treatment for her injuries. Chloe fled the scene before officers arrived. Michigan State Police K-9 attempted to track Chloe but was unsuccessful.

The Ishpeming Police Department was assisted on scene by Michigan State Police K-9, Negaunee Police Department and the Marquette County Sheriff's Office.
