CALUMET, Mich. (WLUC) - A new business in Calumet is giving back to the community.
Peninsula Auto Repair is joining the fight against cancer.
For every tow given the business is donating $5 to the Cancer Research Institute.
The auto shop opened up in October of 2016, but started their towing business last week.
Employees say they want to help others beyond providing their auto services.
Every single person that I know and they know somebody that has cancer or have had cancer and they're in remission," said service technician, Erick Baccus. "It's just a way that we can give back to our community."
Peninsula Auto Repair also gives a 10% discount on auto repair services to those who are in the military, veterans, EMT's, law enforcement and hospital employees.
