MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Friday, thousands lined up inside lakeview arena for the annual Ore to Shore Bike Expo. More than 2,000 riders filled the arena to register and pick up their race packets.

The expo also gives them a chance to check out several vendors, socialize with other riders and even enjoy a pasta dinner. This is the 18th year of the Ore to Shore, officials say it's all about the community support.

"It's a total community event, we have 400 volunteers that come from the community and support it so much and the racers keep coming back, they love it," said Race Director Scott Tuma. "Now it's family reunions, people have done it for all the years, it's just growing, it's a family event."

The first race is the 10 mile Shore Rock, it starts at 8 a.m. Saturday.
