UPPER PENINSULA, Mich. (WLUC) - The Ojibwa Casinos in Baraga and Marquette have now been approved for renovations for the first time since they opened.
The $33.5 million project in Marquette will include a three-star 80 room hotel, 1,200-seat entertainment complex, three branded restaurants, 400-seat sate of the art conference facility, and gaming floor with 500 slot machines.
The groundbreaking ceremony will be held at the Ojibwa Casino in Marquette on Tuesday December 6 and 11 a.m.
$6.5 million worth of upgrades to the Baraga Casino will be used to enhance guest experience.
The project will include the expansion of the existing gaming facility and many other infrastructure upgrades.
Groundbreaking for this project will take place at the Baraga Casino on Wednesday December 7 at 10 a.m.
Completion dates for both projects are expected in late 2017 or early 2018.
