NMU, MTU hockey both home this weekend; seeking home ice playoff advantage

MARQUETTE, HOUGHTON, Mich. (WLUC) - Both the Northern Michigan University Wildcats and the Michigan Tech Huskies are at home this weekend with both teams eyeing a home ice WCHA playoff series.

Fans in both areas are encouraged to come out and cheer on the Wildcats at the Berry Events Center and the Huskies at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena. Puck drops at 7:07 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights in both Houghton and Marquette.

The Huskies square off against Alaska-Fairbanks while the Wildcats will host the Lake Superior State University.

The Northern Michigan University Wildcats are currently sitting in second place with 37 points and the Michigan Tech Huskies are currently in fifth place with 28 points and only 3 points out of a home playoff spot.
