MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The YMCA in Marquette is offering childcare on snow days, and with winter weather, the help comes at a perfect time of year for parents and children.
There’s not need to sign up either. Parents are able to drop children off as soon as a snow day is announced. The service available 7:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. and is open to children ages 5 to 12.
They say parents should send their children with snacks, a lunch and a swimsuit.
It’s a great service, especially in the U.P.
“Well it is very important especially living in the U.P. We definitely have quite a few snow days every year and we just want to make sure that the Y is providing a safe place for the children in our community,” said Program Coordinator Rachel Quayle.
Parents and children can register at the front desk the morning of. The cost is $29 for members and $42 for non-members.
