MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - A U.P.-Wide Red Hatters gathering was held on Northern Michigan University’s campus Wednesday. It was the 14th annual meeting of the Red Hatters of the Upper Peninsula. 14 of the 24 organizations were in attendance.

Ladies at the event were able to enjoy a luncheon buffet, drinks, quilt raffles, and a DJ.

The U.P.-Wide gathering happens once per year, but they have even more events on a local level.

“Each month, we hold a little get together. We have a committee that plans something each month, and just mainly go out and have fun,” said Darlene Kyto, Queen Mother of the Marquette Red Hat Rosettes. “That's what we're all about.”

New members are always welcome to join the Red Hat Rosettes. For more information on how to join, call Darlene Kyto at 906-361-3069 or email her at
