MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The U.P. Children's Museum was filled with more than just kids Sunday afternoon.
As part of the fifth annual Marquette Love Show, the Creactivation Collective invited artists and vendors to crowd the museum to raise money for Room at the Inn Warming Center. The event focuses on local artists, musicians and the community coming together to give back and serve those in need, with the goal of focusing on internalized love and how you can share it in the community.
With a monetary or winter gear donation, community members could participate in presentations and workshops by local businesses. Artists also donated pieces of their work to be given as door prizes.
"The Marquette Yoga Center is teaching a yoga workshop, we have Chris Leith coming to teach a Shakespeare kids acting workshop, so there's just people in the area who wanted to contribute in that way so we're creating connection through the workshops, which is also a big part of why I love throwing the Love Show because it creates connection and empathy, and we realize we are all in this together," says organizer Liza Hunter.
