MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) -- One company is chipping in to make sure Lakeview Arena looks its best for the Kraft Hockeyville game. Lowe's of Marquette donated $6,000 in paint and supplies.

All Lowe's Home Improvement stores do some form of community service work each year. Lowe's of Marquette decided to donate new paint to Lakeview Arena this year. Store employees said it was a more visible upgrade than the building's recent infrastructure work funded by Kraft Hockeyville.

"It just needed some freshening up and updating," assistant store manager Scott Smith said. "Some of the money that went from Kraft went to some infrastructure items, and this is just something small. Painting is something people see."

In addition to donating the paint, 13 volunteers from the store worked all day applying it. They painted walls, railings and seats.
