MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The annual Law Enforcement Torch Run continued with a walk-run in Marquette Tuesday. It's part of a full week of events.

Money from the walk-run registration is used to help fund individuals and teams competing in the Special Olympics. Statewide the effort raises more than a million dollars for the Special Olympics. Organizers say when you see the athletes in action, it changes you.

"I try to tell everybody, you can talk the talk but once you go to a summer games or a winter games and you actually see what they can do and how they do it and how much fun and love they have in doing it, you're hooked," said Carl White, U.P. Team Captain.

More events are planned through the week. Wednesday there will be a run in Escanaba beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday they're hosting a run in Sault St. Marie.
