MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) As many of you may know, Lakeview Arena in Marquette is in the running for the title of Hockeyville. It's a contest put on by Kraft Foods.

Now the arena has made into the final round...squaring off against the Rushmore Thunderdome in South Dakota. People can vote up to 50 times a day. The winning arena will host an NHL preseason game and win $150,000 for upgrades.

"I think what makes Marquette Hockeyville is just if you come here on any given day in the winter or during the hockey season and see the amount of people that are in this building supporting the teams," said Andrew Maciver, Marquette Parks and Recreations Department. "It's great to see just the camaraderie the people in the stands. We live for hockey up here; it's not just something that gets us through the winter, but it drives our community and our economy."

Lakeview Arena is already guaranteed $75,000 for making to the final round.
