HOUGHTON, Mich. (WLUS) - The tenth annual Lake Superior Celebration is kicking off at the Great Lakes Research Center at Michigan Technological University Thursday night.
Nine schools from across the U.P. have worked hard, putting their presentations and displays together. They will be showcased Thursday evening at the research center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
There’s a speaker talking on how he uses drones for his aerial photographs.
“We’ve got several activities in here for the students. One, learning about pollinators. They'll get to dissect a flower. Students will get to dissect boats out of natural materials, take them home and set sail on Lake Superior, any of the little water ways,” MTU Director of Science Joan Chadde said.
There’s close to 20 activities where students and their families can participate. Students are specifically looking at proactive ways to reduce waste in the environment.
