MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Upper Peninsula Children's Museum (UPCM) is looking for a few young entrepreneurs. They're looking to fill out the kid business section inside the museum's store.
The program was created seven and a half years ago to allow its young members to create, promote, and sell products in the museum gift store. Museum staff say it's a great way to get kids to think about money making opportunities.
"The thing we're going to do here is ask children to make things and to figure out how to put things together as entrepreneurs and then end up with a product which people want. Now I think it's time, we need more kids and more business," said Jim Edwards, Museum Manager. "This wall behind me is made up of stuff designed and made by children so they can make their first million.
If you're interested in starting your own business through the museum, you can stop by and pick up more information. The museum is located on Baraga Avenue in Marquette.
