CHIPPEWA CO. Mich. (WLUC) - The man stabbed by a 12-year-old during a domestic dispute has been identified and officially charged in court.
Edgardo Acevedo-Silva, 33, was arrested on Labor Day, Sept. 4th, after an altercation on Sugar Island.
Authorities say a 12-year-old boy, fearing for his mother's life, stabbed Acevedo-Silva four times in the back after he fired multiple gunshot rounds into the floor of the home.
Evidence suggests Acevedo-Silva then fired multiple rounds in the direction of the boy and mom as they fled the home.
The mother and son were both unharmed. Acevedo-Silva was taken to the local hospital to be treated for stab wounds.
Acevedo-Silva is charged with:
1 count - Fire/Discharging in a Building
1 count - Assault With a Dangerous Weapon
1 count - Weapon Felony Firearm
1 count - Domestic Violence
A status conference hearing in Chippewa County District Court has been scheduled for November 7th.
