IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) - Iron Mountain’s 11th annual Italian Fest brought hundreds out to the downtown area Saturday.
The festival celebrates the town's Italian heritage with food, games, music, and dancing. Five different food vendors served plenty of Italian food for festival goers with a variety of Italian beer and wine to choose from as well.
There was something for everyone between a kid's magic show and bounce houses to the grape stomp and noodle kissing contest for adults.
“This is a huge tradition in Iron Mountain. We have a large number of Italians in this area, and it's really something to celebrate,” said Gina Wollner, Iron Mountain DDA Event Coordinator. “If you come to Iron Mountain, the thing to get is Italian food, so that's really the main draw.”
In previous years, the event took place on a Friday and Saturday. Starting with this year it will only take place on Saturday with a bigger one day celebration to make it easier on food vendors and organization.
