Head on crash in Wisconsin turns fatal

JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) A head-on collision on an icy highway in the Janesville area killed both drivers.

The Rock County Sheriff's Office says a 75-year-old woman from Janesville lost control of her pickup truck on U.S. Highway 14 Monday afternoon. Her vehicle traveled into the oncoming lane of traffic and collided with another truck driven by a 57-year-old man from Davis, Illinois.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was flown to a hospital in Madison, where she was pronounced dead on Monday evening.

Neither victim was immediately identified.

Traffic on the highway had to be rerouted for about five hours due to the crash.
