MARQUETTE COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - On March 7th, Forsyth Township Officers responded to the area of Ace Hardware on the report of a male subject, who was on meth, and had a warrant for his arrest for being a parole absconder.

Officers approached the suspect at a nearby laundromat and he tried to elude the police by going out another door of the business.

26-year-old Steven David Baker of Gwinn, was stopped and searched. Officers found a stolen loaded handgun in the front pocket of his pants. A gun check showed that it had been reported stolen in 2013.

Baker has been charged with Weapons, Carrying Concealed, and Firearms Possession by a Felon. Both charges are five year felonies.

Baker was lodged at the Marquette County Jail.
