Fox Motors to partner with UPAWS for free pet adoption event

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - A Marquette-area car dealership will once again partner with the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter (UPAWS) next week to help connect homeless animals with loving families.

The ‘Find a Friend with Fox’ pet adoption event will be held at Fox Motors in Marquette Township next Wednesday, August 15 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.

You can stop by the Fox showroom on US-41 and interact with adoptable cats and dogs and take one home for free.

UPAWS Community Outreach Coordinator, Ann Brownell says Fox will pay all pet adoption fees for one day only.

"It's just amazing because they will pay for every adoption that day, whether its bunnies, we've got snakes, guinea pigs, we've got obviously cats and dogs and kittens. And we're going to bring as many animals as we can to Fox. But what's cool about it is they don't forget about the animals that can't come. So you go to Fox, you get a voucher, bring that voucher back to UPAWS, they'll still pay for it," asserted Brownell.

All animals adopted from UPAWS come spayed and neutered, micro-chipped and fully vaccinated.

Brownell says adopting homeless pets is one of the most meaningful choices you can make.

"There are homeless animals all across the world, obviously but also in the U.P. They don't ask to be homeless. They ask for loving homes. And you know, they deserve it. And we have some really wonderful pets. So please don't forget the adult dogs and the adult cats. Because I tell you what, they have a lot of love to give, including the seniors. And they’re going to bring a lot of joy to your life,” concluded Brownell.
