MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - A mobile food pantry for veterans is coming to Marquette at the end of September. Four organizations—the U.P. Construction Council, the Michigan Building and Construction Trades Council, the U.P. Labor Federation, and Adventist Community Services—will be giving out more than 30,000 pounds of food.

Food will be handed out exclusively for veterans. Those attending are asked to bring proof of service along with boxes or coolers to carry food.

“I think, in the construction industry especially, we've had a good year. We wanted to give back to our community. This is one of the ways we can do it through a food drive for veterans,” said Tony Retaskie, Executive Director if the U.P. Construction Council.

The food pantry will be in the parking lot of Lakeview Arena on September 28th at 11 a.m.
