HOUGHTON, Mich. (WLUC) - Michigan Technological University students showed off their experience at Automotive Industry Day last week.
The Formula SAE Enterprise Team caught attention with their formula-style racecar.
MTU seniors choose between senior design class or one of five enterprise teams.
These student-led companies create original products from start to finish.
"I chose enterprise because I've been really interested in motor sports. Specifically I want to go into indie car. So, I'm hoping that the formula team helps me get there since it is an open wheel race. The formula team I knew I wanted to be a part of before I even got to Tech," said Formula SAE Enterprise Team president Cora Taylor.
50 students participate in Formula SAE to design, build and compete with their car.
Each student is required to contribute 5 hours a week, but many put in 10 to 40 hours depending on their role.
