GERMFASK, Mich. (WLUC) - Last year the "End of the Road Winery" opened in the Germfask area and the vintners are ready for their 2nd season of business.
Part of the experience when you arrive at the winery is being greeted by Bristol, the official dog at the end ofthe road.
Once inside you can try any of the 16 varieties of wines that are offered.
With a majority of fruit based wines, there is something for any taste including an award winning rasberry wine.
The wines all fall in the 13 to 15 dollar a bottle range.
The owners, Jim and Robin Barker, say that their first year went even better than they had hoped it would.
"Well we didn't know what to expect. We were hoping to pull in a few tourist off the highway. We have a web page and Facebook. The resorts have some brochures out but it's actually been better, far better than we expected."
Bristol even has a wine made in his honor but I've been assured he has no interest in sampling it for himself.
The winery is tentatively scheduled to be open through September, Wednesday thru Saturday 11am-6pm.
