Consumer Watch: Father's Day gift ideas

IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) - Father’s Day is Sunday, and many places like Jim's Music are preparing by starting sales on gifts for dad.

"Right now we are actually having a special,” Store Manager Shane Coello explained. “We can offer a month of free lessons. We do offer a variety of lessons. We have piano, guitar, and vocal."

Free lessons can help dads enhance old skills or start new ones.

"Ukeleles are all the rage and drums are always fun,” Coello added. “We also have mandolins and banjos too if you want to go more of the Bluegrass route."

There's so many different dads out there and so many gift ideas here in the U.P. So if music isn't quite what your dad is into, Oak Crest Golf Course is also offering specials this weekend.

"We're going to have the Father's Day special where any child can bring their dad out to Oak Crest to golf for free,” Kevin Londo, the clubs Director of Golf, told TV6 News. “All you have to do is pay the cart rental. It's a great time to get together with your dad. You don't have to be a great golfer at all, you can laugh at bad shots, and you can laugh at good shots. It's just a fun time to be around your kids."

Whatever you decide to get for dad this year, whether its music lesson or a free golf day, often times the best gifts are just spending time together.
