HOUGHTON, Mich. (WLUC) - Skies were clear Wednesday for the 19th annual Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing. The Chamber moved the event to the Fall rather than Spring for the first time this year to avoid competing with other tournaments.
More than 120 people on 30 teams from local area businesses were out at the Portage Lake Golf Course.
“Well, this is a great networking event for our local businesses,” said Chamber Board Member Carrie Richards. “It's just a great day to be out in the sunshine. I mean, look at this weather, it's going to be perfect. We have a lot of fun out of the office getting to know other member businesses. We're really excited about just how much fun we're going to have today and the prizes we could win.”
Raffle prizes included a three-year truck lease from Copper Country Ford and a Titleist Driver.
Range Bank was the winner of the day, with a score of 59. Auto Pro Glass and Tire came in second with Chassell Carpentry coming in third.
Ticket costs included green fees, drink tickets, lunch and a cart. Proceeds covered the cost of the event.
