ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLUC) -- Car aficionados came to Ishpeming Aug. 12 for the 16th annual Buzz the Gut car show. They displayed their own classic cars and saw others' at the Cliffs Shaft Mining Musuem parking lot.
The event is meant to be a throwback to the 1950s and 1960s, when people often cruised through their towns in their cars.
Hundreds of fans, both young and old, came to check out the antique cars.
'They have character," said Northern Michigan University sophomore Lizzie Laskowski.
"Yeah. They're just interesting," said her sister Sarah Laskowski, a Ball State University sophomore. "This is when cars were good; '60s, '70s, '80s. I Ijust think they're beautiful."
After the show, drivers cruised from Ishpeming to Negaunee and back, ending at the Ishpeming Elks Club for a sock hop with live rock and roll music.
