ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLUC) Hundreds of kids and their parents came out for the Chamber Children's Carnival in Ishpeming Friday evening. It was the first year for the event.
The carnival - which was held right outside of the River Rock Lanes bowling alley - was put on by the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce. It featured games, prizes, and a chance to win a pair of "His & Hers" bicycles.
The family theme of the event was atypical for the organization.
"It's really important because it captures the entire community in a different way," said Danielle LaCavalla, one of the event's organizers. "Instead of just catering to businesses, or just to adults, we're catering to the entire family."
